Biodanza extension - application for children and adolescents with Monica Turco

Intensive comprehensive training for Biodanza teachers for 5 days near Prague.
In English with translation into Czech.

 A unique opportunity – Monica Turco will lead a Biodanza extension training for children and teens in the Czech Republic!

Monica Turco, one of the pioneers of Biodanza for children of all ages, is offering an extension training in collaboration with the Biodanza School Czech Republic to provide participants with an official qualification to lead Biodanza with children and adolescents. Usually this Biodanza training is held in Italy in Italian and spread over 2 weekends.

Now there is a unique opportunity to experience this training intensively over 5 days in English near Prague.

The aim of the specialisation is to train Biodanza teachers to conduct classes with children and adolescents. The emphasis is on radicalization of the Vivencia and understanding of the goals and dances of Biodanza, so as to embrace our intervention from a Biocentric perspective. Video tutorials with children and adolescents are included in the training to help understand the methodology.

This application proposes an approach to lowering stress levels for both participants and facilitators; because Biodanza proposes immediate involvement on an expressive level and can be disorienting for the group and for those who facilitate, we want to give tools to foster responses to the group in the most Biocentric way possible.

The training is designed for Biodanza teachers, students under supervision and students of Biodanza SRT schools who have completed a minimum of 4 methodology modules as part of their basic Biodanza training.

Participants in the training will receive

– handbook “Biodanza for Children” written by Professor Rolando Toro

– handbook divided into three parts made by Monica Turco back in 1994 and updated every year. Last revised by Rolando Toro in 2008. The handout contains: Theoretical aspects, lessons that can be implemented with children from kindergarten, elementary, middle and high school that complement the existing one for adults, lists of music and exercises and essential directions that serve as a guide for the initial period of work.

– 11 playlists with Biodanza music (and others that can be used for some proposals) that are suitable for classes with children and adolescents, complementing the existing collections of official music.

– Biocentric Education handout written by Rolando Toro.

STRUCTURE & CONTENT OF THE TRAINING

The training is structured according to the needs of the group formed each year.

– Main objectives for the development of methodology with children (since kindergarten) and adolescents through the values of Biocentric Education proposed by Prof. Rolando Toro.

– Management of limits, time and inclusion of all situations that arise according to Biocentric Education.

– Development of methodological aspects through analysis of lessons presented in the handout. It will start from the new methodological aspects introduced since 2006.

– Demonstration and analysis of exercises, deliveries and music for different age groups.

– Methodological deepening of exercises.

– Space for answering doubts.

– Videos made with children and adolescents will be shown, facilitating understanding of the methodology.

VIVENCIAS

– Didactic proposals through dance to perceive the progressiveness of dances, the real times of Vivencias in kindergarten and preschools.

– Didactic proposals through dance to understand the type of movement and posture needed by Biodanza facilitators in different groups.

– Didactic proposals through dance to develop greater expressiveness in movement.

– Harmonising Vivencias

Vivencias and deepening didactics will be carried out in accordance with the request and needs of the group.

The methodology Monica Turco is proposing reached the end of experimentation in 2006, she called it: methodology of urgency, because social relations had changed so much that it was necessary to teach basic human relations quickly and permanently before moving on to actual dance. Today it is still useful and important results are obtained. An approach is proposed to lower stress levels for both participants and facilitators; since Biodanza proposes an immediate involvement at an expressive level and can be very disorienting for the group and for the facilitator, We want to give tools to encourage responses to the group in the most Biocentric way possible and end each meeting with greater energetic stability.

Participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the training. Trainers & students under supervision and students of Biodanza schools will be given the certificate after they become certified Biodanza teachers.

MONICA TURCO

Italian, born and raised in Venezuela. Graduated in Psychopedagogy. She is passionate agriculturist. She loves the night sky which is as essential to her as water and food.

She has been a titular Teacher of Biodanza System Rolando Toro since 1991 and teaches Biodanza Teacher since 1995.

She was Founder and Didactic Coordinator of the Rolando Toro School in Bologna from 1995 to 2002. In 2002 she founded and directed the Rolando Toro Training School in Biodanza in Rome until 2010.

She deepened her research mainly in the themes: Creativity, Trance, Biocentric Education, Biodanza in Nature, Biodanza and Voice and Biodanza for Children and Adolescents.

She collaborated with the University of Bologna in the Department of Educational Sciences in the Faculty of Psychology, as a Biodanza teacher in 1999.

She has been leading groups in Italy in kindergartens, primary, middle and high schools since 1993.

She led groups in Italy of disabled adults and young people with cerebral palsy and intellectual disabilities from 1995 to 2002 and she currently lead a group of adults with physical and intellectual disabilities at CISI in Gorizia.

From 2000 to 2005 she led Biodanza groups in psychiatric communities and communities for AIDS carriers.

Since 2008, she has been Director of the Biocentric Education Centre in Bologna.

She has been specialising in the application of Biodanza for children and adolescents since 1994, deepening it every year and translating the material into different languages. She is frequently invited to different countries in Europe such as: Germany, France, Spain; in Brazil, Israel and Norway and in Italy I propose it every year.

She had the honour of conducting, together with Rolando Toro, Ruth Cavalcante and Angelina Pereira, the first training course in Biocentric Education, which at the time was called the Biodanza and Biocentric Education Extension. This extension took place in São Paulo – Brazil in 2002.

During the Training in Biocentric Education in Nante-France she proposed the theme “The posture of the Biocentric Educator”.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Dates: 16th – 20th October 2024

Times: training starts on Wednesday 16th October 2024 at 10:00 AM. End on Sunday 20that at 6 PM.

Location: Lorien, Nenačovice 80. (approx. 30 minutes by car west of Prague).

If you need help with transport, let us know. We can help you organise a carpool with other participants.

Language: English with translation into Czech

Registration: Wednesday, October 16th 9:00 – 9:50.

Arrival is possible on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning. Contact us if you want to arrive on Tuesday and are interested in dinner on Tuesday evening and breakfast on Wednesday morning.

Accommodation: in the dancing hall on mattresses in your own sleeping bag. Mattresses are available.

Food: Great vegetarian food (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Water, tea available throughout the day. First meal is lunch on Wednesday, last meal snack on Sunday after. Email us if you need a special diet.

Price for training: early bird 470 EUR till 30th June, standard price: 550 EUR

Your place will be reserved upon payment of a deposit of 200 EUR or the total amount of the training.

By registering for the seminar and paying the entrance fee, you agree to the following cancellation terms between you and the event organizer – Biodanza škola s.r.o.

In case of cancellation of participation in the seminar:
A) within 30 days before the event, we will refund the full amount minus 200 CZK administrative fee.
B) 30 – 20 days before the event, the contractual penalty is 25% of the seminar price, the rest will be sent back to you
C) 20-10 days before the event, the contractual penalty is 50% of the seminar price, the rest will be sent back to you
D) 10 – 0 days before the event, the contractual penalty is 75% of the seminar price, the rest will be sent back to you

In all cases it is possible to find a substitute for yourself, in this case you will avoid any contractual penalty and you will not be charged an administration fee.
